ClarkSLT
ClarkSLT is an independent speech and language therapy service based in and around Surrey, Sussex and Kent, led by Speech & Language Therapist Becky Clark. The team are passionate about making a difference for children and young people aged 4 – 25 years with speech, language and social communication difficulties.

Our expertise
We understand the language demands of the curriculum, how literacy and language skills interlink, and the challenges of social communication.

Our insight into how demands change across the age range enables us to identify targets which will support the child both now and for the future.  As well as supporting communication, curriculum access and literacy, intervention can focus on helping long term independence, emotional well-being and self advocacy.

ClarkSLT therapists support children and young people with a range of needs including Developmental Language Disorder (DLD),  social communication needs and Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

Our services
We offer services for schools or colleges providing tailored support at the specialist, targeted and universal levels. The team is committed to providing an effective service drawing from current evidence. We provide engaging training and workshop sessions and are keen to support schools through upskilling staff.

Parents can also refer their child directly to us. We can offer assessments and provide therapy packages. We work with the young person to improve their skills, to develop strategies and self awareness. Parents and teachers gain a better understanding of the child's difficulties and how they can help at home and at school / college.

Communication difficulties are common

Approximately 10% of all children have long term speech, language and communication needs.

Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) is often a hidden difficulty but affects around 7.5% of children.

We support a range of needs

  • Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). Others may use different terms such as Specific Language Impairment (SLI), Pragmatic Language Impairment or Language Delay.
  • Phonological difficulties affect speech or literacy (phonics and phonological awareness).
  • Social communication difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Aspergers / or a high functioning ASD profile.
  • Articulation difficulties, dyspraxia
  • Stammering, selective mutism and voice disorders
